KWA were appointed as Planning Consultants for the conversion of a 1794 Grade II listed church, set within a Conservation Area in a rural South Cambridgeshire village, into residential use.

The historic significance of the building, limited amenity space, and lack of parking presented significant planning challenges. KWA worked closely with the client, architect, historic building consultant, planning officer, and Conservation Officer to refine the scheme. Through careful negotiation and design adjustments, Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent were successfully secured.

The completed development delivers two high-spec one-bedroom apartments and was featured on Episode 72 of BBC One’s Homes Under the Hammer in 2022, showcasing the sensitive transformation of a historic building into contemporary living spaces.
