KWA undertook a year long consultation with various bodies to finalise a scheme to relocate Cambridge City Football Club (CCFC) to the South Cambridgeshire village of Sawston.

Although the 12.3ha site lies within the Green Belt, outside the settlement boundary and incorporates a TPO ancient woodland, it was formerly an inert waste tip, is overgrown and currently disused.

The scheme incorporates both CCFC and community development.

The CCFC element includes a floodlit grass pitch, a main stadium, covered stands and a ticket office to comply with FA requirements for a 3,000 spectator capacity. It also incorporates a full sized floodlit 3G pitch with its own stand, security, access via an industrial estate, parking and cycle storage.

The community element includes 3.4ha of land to be gifted to Sawston Parish Council for sport and recreation use with floodlights, shared access, dedicated parking and use of CCFC facilities for community changing and washroom usage.
